arrested.
According to the La Crosse Police Department,
officers conducted a prostitution sting at 1830 Rose Street, between 3:00 pm and
6:30pm Monday.
Police say the five males arrested had answered an
advertisement over the Internet and then responded to the listed address where
they had agreed to exchange money for sex.
All five men were arrested on a charge of solicitation of
a prostitute. Officers say the men were booked into jail and able to post the
$200 bond.
Those arrested include:
- 48-year-old William Brockmiller of La Crosse, WI
- 43-year-old Jon Hage of West Salem, WI
- 42-year-old Brian Marking of Lake City, MN
- 42-year-old Brian Selke of La Crescent, MN
- 25-year-old Spenser Nickelatti of Holmen, WI
Interim Police Chief Robert Abraham commented following
the arrests, "We are aware of other crimes that are being committed as a result
of prostitution including robberies, batteries, sexual assaults, and drug
related offenses, most of which go unreported due to the victim being involved
in prostitution. Investigation into prostitution activity is on-going, and more
arrests could happen."
The men are scheduled for a court appearance on September
6th.
