CENTENNIAL, Colo. (WKOW) -- Prosecutors in the Colorado theater shooting case will get James Holmes' educational records, a judge ruled Wednesday.
During a hearing last week, prosecutors argued they needed the University of Colorado Denver records to help build their case and establish motive for the July 20 shooting. State attorneys believe Holmes made threats, failed a key exam and had been told by professors to find another line of work weeks before the shooting.
Holmes was a neuroscience doctoral candidate at the University of Colorado Denver. The judge ruled all personal information be redacted from the documents.
