Two arrested in Bloomer arson, burglary cases

Bloomer (Press Release) - On August 25th, 2012, Cody J. Burgess, 22, was taken into custody.  Burgess has been charged with 3 counts of burglary and 2 counts of arson. 

On August 28th, 2012, Cody J. Burgess was charged with arson to a dwelling for a fire having occurred on April 17, 2012 located at 18629 10th St, Bloomer.

On August 25th, 2012, Kory Boos was taken into custody as a result of this investigation. Boos was charged with 1 count of burglary as a result of this investigation.

Additional charges are expected to be filed as this investigation continues. The Bloomer Police Department, the Chippewa County Sheriff's Department and the Wisconsin Department of Justice, Division of Criminal Investigation are asking citizens with any information regarding these fires or individuals to contact the Bloomer Police Department, the Chippewa County Sheriff's Department or the Arson Hotline.  Citizens calling the Arson Hotline can remain anonymous and eligible for a reward up to $5,000.

The Bloomer Police Department, along with the Bloomer Fire Department, Chippewa County Sheriff's Office and the Wisconsin Department of Justice, Division of Criminal Investigation are investigating a number of fires that have occurred recently in the City of Bloomer.
