Eau Claire (WQOW) - The National Weather Service says so
far, this year has been the warmest year on record to date in Eau Claire.
Labor Day
weekend traditionally marks the unofficial end to summer, and this summer, was
the fourth hottest summer on record for Eau
Claire. The National Weather Service says this summer
was Milwaukee's
warmest on record. The dry conditions we've also seen could have an effect on
fall. The fall color season could be in jeopardy. Experts say that's also
because of the drought. There isn't enough moisture in the air, using the leaves
to dry out and drop early, meaning fall colors won't be as vibrant. Forecasters
say there's a better chance to see fall colors up north. Summer officially ends
September 22nd.
