Eau Claire (WQOW) - A local restaurant takes time today to thank a group of people who are always on the clock, even if it is a national holiday.
Monday, Fire Station 6 in Eau Claire received a warm "thank you" from the Olive Garden. A hot meal was delivered to firefighters in appreciation for their hard work on a day many people get to rest.
This is the 9th year the Olive Garden in Eau Claire has done this. Each year they pick a different group of people who have to work on the holiday.
"I had the privilege of having my own children help me serving our firefighters today which just makes me feel even better about the whole idea of family and friends and what Labor Day is really about which is people serving each other in small ways and great ways. Small ways, in providing great food. Great ways, in putting yourself on the line the way our friends here at the fire station do, " says Jessica Jones, the Olive Garden Sales and Service Manager.
On the menu Monday; bread sticks, salad, spaghetti and tiramisu.
