Charges filed in Eau Claire armed robbery

Eau Claire (WQOW) - Criminal charges are filed Wednesday against the young women accused in an armed robbery of an Eau Claire convenience store.

Aspen Miller and Alexis Ledford, who's picture is not available, were charged Wednesday with the Sunday night robbery of the Direct Store on Patton Street. A friend told police Miller admitted robbing the clerk at knifepoint.

Investigators say she got away with about $300. Police say Miller told them she robbed the store to get money for drugs. Ledford says Miller gave her $75 for driving the getaway car.

Both women were in court Wednesday. Miller is being held on a $10,000 cash bond. Ledford was released on a signature bond.

Eau Claire (Press Release) - Eau Claire Police Department Detectives obtained further information which led to the arrest of Alexis Ledford, of Eau Claire, for her involvement in the armed robbery which occurred at the Direct Store on 09-09-12.

Eau Claire (Press Release) - On 09-09-12 at approximately 9:39 p.m. Eau Claire Police responded to the Direct Store at 2515 Patton St. on a report of an armed robbery. The clerk reported that a female had displayed a knife and requested money. The female then fled the store with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Eau Claire Police detectives developed leads throughout the day on 09-10-12 which led to the arrest of Aspen Miller of Eau Claire. Miller will appear in court on 09-12-12.

Witnesses saw Miller arrive at the store in a silver Chevrolet Cavalier or similar type vehicle with another female driving the vehicle. The female driving the vehicle has been identified and the investigation continues as to others involvement in the case.

Eau Claire (Press Release) - On 09-09-12 at approximately 9:39 p.m. a female entered the Direct Store at 2515 Patton St, displayed a weapon and demanded money from the clerk. The female left the store with an undisclosed amount of money and no one was hurt in the store.

The female arrived at the store in a silver Chevrolet Cavalier or similar type vehicle with another female driving that car.

The female who entered the store is described as a white female, about 5'8" to 5'10", 20 to 30 years of age, thin build, with brown hair. She was wearing pigtails at the time of the robbery.

The other female driving the vehicle is described as being in her 20's.

Eau Claire (WQOW) - Eau Claire Police are investigating an armed robbery at the Mobil Mart on Patton Street. Police say a brunette female wearing a red sweatshirt robbed the gas station with a knife around 9:45 Sunday night. It's unclear whether anything was taken or if anyone was injured.

They're still searching for the suspect.
