Eau Claire (WQOW) - A Mondovi woman is hospitalized after she was run over by a pick-up truck and the driver is now in jail.
Lucas Makescoldweather was charged Monday with recklessly endangering safety. He's from Nelson. Stephanie Taylor, 32, is hospitalized in fair condition after the tires ran over her mid-section.
Buffalo County deputies were called to a disturbance in Nelson around 4 a.m. Sunday. They say during that disturbance a group of people tried to stop Makescoldweather from driving away while intoxicated. Witnesses say he backed into a parked car, then drove forward hitting Taylor. The truck then hit a garage.
Officials say it does not appear Makescoldweather's actions were intentional but say alcohol was a factor in the incident.
