Jail time for man in domestic incident

Posted:

Eau Claire (WQOW) - A Rice Lake man accused of suffocating a little girl and choking her mother is going to jail.

Shibaka Miles was sentenced Monday in Barron County. He got 20 days in jail. Miles was arrested in May after he allegedly became upset because his ex-girlfriend had not returned home and he was babysitting three young girls.

When she did get home, she said Miles choked her into unconsciousness. When one of the girls tried to call for help, Miles allegedly put his hand over the mouths and noses of two of the girls, ages three and seven, and said if they told anyone he would hurt them.

Besides jail, Miles must do community service, cannot have any contact with the woman or the children, and get any necessary counseling.
