Eau Claire (WQOW) - A vote of support from the Eau Claire City Council could help the YMCA strike a deal.
Tuesday, the city council voted to annex a parcel of land from the Town of Washington. That land is owned by the Y. It's 50 acres on Lorch Avenue, just south of I-94 and next to the Florian Gardens. The city tells WQOW News 18, of that 50 acres, about 17 can be developed. The listing price is $950,000.
The Y has said it would use money from the sale to build a new facility. The Y has been raising money for a number of years in hopes of re-locating to the corner of Menomonie Street and Clairemont Avenue.
