PARIS (AP) -- A British official says the royal family is considering legal options after photos apparently of Prince William's wife, Kate, sunbathing topless in the south of France were published in a French magazine.
The photos today in the magazine Closer were blurry and shot from a distance; in London, a St James's Palace official who demanded anonymity in line with policy said the images appeared to be genuine and "we feel a line has been crossed with their publication."
The magazine claims the pictures were taken on a guesthouse terrace in France where William and Kate were on vacation this month.
An aide traveling with William and Kate in Malaysia said the couple "are saddened to learn about the alleged photos."
