Polk County (WQOW) - The DNR is asking for your help finding out who dumped hundreds of cans of potentially hazardous chemicals in Northwestern Wisconsin.
The DNR's Environmental Crimes Unit says about 230 cans of paints, coatings and solvents were dumped in Polk and Burnett County. The DNR says they were dumped at four separate spots in Siren, the town of Frederic, Webster and Danbury around Labor Day. The special investigator in charge of the case believes these cases are related, and says the state of Wisconsin takes these types of crimes seriously.
The DNR is asking anyone who saw anything suspicious in those areas to call the DNR's tipline at 1-800-TIPWDNR.
