Teen gets jail time for role in bar burglary

Posted:

Sawyer County (WQOW) - A teenager who was shot by a bar owner while burglarizing the bar will spend eight months in jail.

Christopher Voight was sentenced Monday in Sawyer County. Voight, of Hayward, was shot two years ago in the neck and hand by the owner of the Countryside Bar near Hayward.

A neighbor told reporters the bar had been burglarized several times and the owner was sick and tired of being a victim of crime.

The other suspect in the case, Trent Trepania, was also shot in the groin and ankle. He was sentenced last month to a year in jail.
