MONTICELLO (WKOW) -- The Village of Monticello police department says, a Monticello man has been arrested for recklessly endangering safety.
On Monday, at approximately 6:27 p.m., a Village of Monticello police officer requested assistance with the investigation of a reported stabbing. The incident occurred behind 238 North Main St. in Monticello.
Green County deputies, detectives, New Glarus EMS and Monticello First Response personnel were sent to the scene. The preliminary investigation indicates that two men were fighting inside a Monticello bar. One man left, and was then followed by the other and the argument continued. One of the men, 41-year-old Bryan Adams, of Monticello, told a detective that the other individual, a 39-year-old Monticello man had attacked him and that he had stabbed the man to defend himself.
Adams was arrested for Recklessly Endangering Safety and transported to the Green County Jail. The 39-year-old Monticello man was transported to UW Hospital in Madison for an injury that is not believed to be life threatening.
The incident remains under investigation.
