Menomonie (WQOW) - A proposed housing and retail development in downtown Menomonie clears its biggest hurdle.
The city council on Monday night gave unanimous approval to the general plan for the development. It would be built on the site of the former Leever's grocery store. The plans call for a four story building with 54 apartments, nine townhouses and retail space.
Developers hope to start construction on the $12 to $15 million project later this year.
