Eau Claire (WQOW) - The effort to make Eau Claire more bicycle-friendly has momentum.
Monday night, the Eau Claire Plan Commission recommended a new ordinance about bike parking. The proposal would require new site plans, that come before the city, to include bike parking.
The plan commission is recommending a few exceptions. For example, if an applicant could prove there is absolutely no room on their site to include it. The other exception would be if a property owner had another building, with extra parking, within 500 feet of their new business.
The city council will have the final say on the ordinance proposal.
