Burnett County (WQOW) - The investigation into a toddler's death in northwestern Wisconsin is now finished.
Reena Williams was the subject of an intense search last month in Burnett County. Her body was found in a canal next to her home outside of Danbury. Her death was ruled an accidental drowning.
Officials say the little girl had wandered away from her home earlier that day and was found 12 blocks away. She was returned to her father but apparently wandered away a second time and was never seen alive again.
On Wednesday Burnett County investigators turned over the results of their investigation to the district attorney. The stack of reports is over a foot high. The sheriff won't say if his investigators are making any recommendations to the district attorney.
A decision on whether any charges are filed is expected next week.
