Chippewa Falls (WQOW)- A major fire investigation is moving along.

A fire last month destroyed a building that housed two businesses and six apartments on Spring Street in downtown Chippewa Falls. On Wednesday three insurance company investigators started taking what's left of the building apart piece by piece. They're trying to determine what caused the fire. Police say there was no electricity in the area where it apparently started.

The investigators expect to be at the scene for the rest of the week. By then they hope to have ruled out numerous possible causes and determine if the fire was accidental or intentional.
