St. Croix County (WQOW) - An elderly woman is hit and killed by a car and the alleged driver is in jail.
Robert Boles of Hammond is being held on possible charges including homicide by negligent driving.
St.
Croix County Sheriff's investigators believe 84-year-old Lucille Hansen
was crossing a county highway near Roberts to get her mail when she was
hit Wednesday afternoon.
Boles allegedly fled the scene, but
witnesses described the car he was driving with a broken windshield and
he was caught a short time later in Hudson.

St. Croix County (WQOW) - An elderly Roberts woman was killed during a hit and run in St. Croix County.
It happened Wednesday afternoon in the area of County Highway TT in the town of Warren. According to the St. Croix County Sheriff's Office a car, driven by a 36-year-old male, struck a pedestrian. Lucille Hansen, age 84, from Roberts was killed. Witnesses say the driver continued along the road.
Witnesses to the crash also gave sheriff's deputies a description of the car, which included that the windshield was broken. The car was spotted a short time later in Hudson and the driver was arrested.
The crash remains under investigation.
