Eau Claire (WQOW)- People in the community gathered at Phoenix Park for a different kind of flash mob.
A meditation flash mob was held at Phoenix Park on Friday. The event was held as part of the International Day of Peace, a global event celebrated on this day since 1982.
Around 30 people participated sitting in stillness for peace for themselves and for the world.
"It's always helpful to take a moment to sit in stillness for yourself, to connect with that part of yourself and to find peace that way. I think that the only way that we can have peace in the world is once we have peace within ourselves and I think it's just so much more comforting to come together as a community with like-minded people who are looking for the same thing and I think that when we do that collectively it certainly effects the world around us and the way that we interact with the world," says Aveen Banich, meditation mob coordinator.
Organizers hope to hold similar flash mobs in the future.
