Elk Mound (WQOW) - A local girl has lost her long battle with cancer.

Josie Gorell, from Elk Mound, died Thursday. She was eleven. Josie was diagnosed with a rare brain tumor eight years ago. Two fundraiser's were held this summer to help her family pay mounting medical bills. Josie had also recently donated her hair for 'Locks of Love'. A long-time family friend says Josie was an incredible little girl who showed grace and kindness and taught friends and family how to be strong in the face of adversity. Funeral services are set for Saturday. Our thoughts go out to Josie's family during this difficult time.
