Press Release from the city of Altoona: The City of Altoona, in partnership with Chippewa Valley Orthopedics, Northwoods Therapy and Hoeft Builders will hold a groundbreaking ceremony in Altoona on Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at 12 PM at the future site of Chippewa Valley
Orthopedics/Northwoods Therapy in the southeast quadrant of River Prairie near the intersection
of 10th Street West and River Prairie Drive.
The groundbreaking will mark initiation of the first commercial construction project in River
Prairie and in Altoona's Tax Increment District #3. The OakLeaf Hospital project is also
expected to begin within the next month.
"We believe there will be many more projects to follow in the next twelve months," commented
City Administrator, Mike Golat, "There has been tremendous interest from businesses hoping to
find a home in River Prairie since OakLeaf announced they were relocating to Altoona."
Chippewa Valley Orthopedics and Northwoods Therapy are currently located in a 14,000 square
foot space in the City of Eau Claire off of Highway 93. The new building will be 36,000 square
feet and the businesses together currently employ over 75 people.
Peter Hoeft, owner of Hoeft Builders, an Eau Claire based commercial general contracting firm,
is looking forward to beginning construction. "It's a great project and I am proud to be part of it.
I look forward to starting and to working with Chippewa Valley Orthopedics, Northwoods
Therapy and the City of Altoona."
