MADISON (WKOW) - Madison Police are searching for a suspect involved in a home intrusion early Saturday morning.
Dane County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a call at approximately 2:09 a.m. on the 3500 block of Commercial Avenue, in the Township of Blooming Grove. The report was of a home invasion where a female resident was confronted by an intruder.
Authorities said the investigation revealed that the female resident was investigating the sound of footsteps when she was confronted with a masked intruder who attempted to use a form of pepper spray on her.
Officials said the resident, who had armed herself with a handgun, fired several shots at the intruder. The suspect fled on foot. The female resident was not injured during the incident
Authorities conducted a K-9 search, but the suspect was not located.
The Dane County Sheriff's Office described the suspect as a black male in his mid 20's, approximately 5'08" - 5'10" in height and approximately 160-180 pounds. He was last seen wearing a dark colored jacket and bandanna.

MADISON (WKOW) -- The Dane County Sheriff's Department and Madison Police investigate a home invasion and shots fired.
According to Dane County Communications, a call came in around 2:15 a.m. Saturday morning. A woman says a man broke into her home on the 3500 block of Commercial Avenue.
According to Dane County Communications, the woman fired shots at a suspect. Police don't believe the suspect was injured. Dane County Communications says police are using a dog to try and find the suspect.
