MADISON (WKOW) -- The refrain of Happy Birthday heard Sunday at St. Mary's Hospital was appropriate, as the facility celebrated 100 years.
The public was invited to this Centennial Celebration to see how far St. Mary's has come in the past 100 years.
"We're grateful to be part of this community," said St. Mary's Hospital President Frank Byrne. "We're grateful to serve the
community, and every day we count as our greatest blessing the fact that
we're privileged and honored to serve members of this community."
At the celebration, people could walk through a giant replica of the human heart and meet
the first person born at the hospital back in 1925.
The hospital also introduced its new Ronald McDonald Family Room, which it says is the first in the state. The room, designed as a place where families of hospitalized children can go to take a break, will be open for use on Monday, September 24.
