Black River Falls (Press Release) - On September 23, 2012 at 4:09 the Jackson County Emergency Dispatch Center paged for a structure fire on Spring Creek Road near the intersection of Moss Hill Road which is located in the Town of Albion in Jackson County.

Upon arrival at W11587 Spring Creek Road the department found a two story wood frame home built in the 1800s fully engulfed. A second nearby unattached 10' x 20' storage type building was also damaged from direct flame contact due to the flames being wind blown towards it.

The owner of the property is a Bill McNulty of Black River Falls. The home was being rented to three adult males who were not home at the time of the fire. There was insurance coverage on the structure and at least one of the renters also had insurance coverage.

The department was assisted with tenders and man power from the Melrose, Merrillan, Hixton and Alma Center Fire Department.  The Jackson County Sheriff's Department provided traffic control and direction. Black River Emergency Medical Service provided firefighter rehab and emergency medical standby.

There were no injuries reported during the fire.

The cause of the fire is not known and is under investigation at this time by the department.
