MADISON (WKOW) -- Flu season is creeping up on us, but there are ways to avoid getting the bug.
Registered Nurse Julie Hitt with Home Health United says the most important thing is to get the vaccine.
Everyone over the age of six months should get the vaccine every year. Children six months to 8 years old need two shots their first season, at least 28 days apart.
For those who don't like the shots, a Flu Mist nasal spray is available. That's for those who are between the ages of two and 49.
There is also a new Fluzone intradermal shot available for those between 18 to 64. It has a microneedle only 1.5 mm long. Click here for more information on that.
Hitt says you should talk to your doctor about getting the vaccine.
