Rusk County (WQOW) - An area mother is accused of locking her young children in a bedroom and leaving the house to go drinking.
Ladysmith police say Casie Gruszczynski admitted putting her two children to bed and attaching a bungee cord to the bedroom door so they could not open it. One of the children is 16 months old, the other is 2.5 years old.
Gruszczynski then allegedly went out drinking with a friend for about four hours. Police say she admitted she became very intoxicated. Investigators say she told them she just wanted some 'me' time.
Gruszczynski is now charged in Rusk County with felony child abandonment.
