Menomonie (WQOW) - An unusual transaction is in the works between two cities in the Chippewa Valley.
The City of Chippewa Falls owns 18 acres of land in Menomonie. Chippewa Falls bought it more than 30 years ago to get clay to be used in construction of a landfill. City officials recently approached Menomonie officials to see if they were interested in buying it.
A tentative deal calls for Menomonie to pay $40,000 for the land which is located along the Red Cedar River. Menomonie plans to turn the site into a park.
