Eau Claire (WQOW) - One of two alleged burglars who were caught thanks to a western Wisconsin deer hunter is going to jail.
Ryan Jacobson and another man were charged with breaking into the former St. Croix Meadows dog track in Hudson. Police say the two men walked directly below a bow hunter in his tree stand last fall.
They didn't notice the hunter who happened to be a sheriff's department jailer from Minnesota. He contacted police who caught the men with a large amount of wiring that had been cut from a scoreboard.
Jacobson was sentenced Wednesday to six months in jail. He was also fined $1,000.
