Sawyer County (Press Release from the Sawyer County Sheriff's Department) - On Tuesday September 25^th at approximately 1:22 p.m., the Sawyer County Sheriff's Department received a 911 call of a motorcycle vs. SUV accident on Chief Lake Road. LCO Police Department, Sawyer County Sheriff's Department, LCO Fire Department and LCO First Responders responded to the scene.

Upon arrival, officers found an injured female motorcycle passenger who was transported by helicopter to St. Mary's in Duluth, MN and the apparent driver of the motorcycle was declared deceased at the scene by Sawyer County Coroner. Occupants of the SUV suffered minor injuries and were checked out at a local hospital.

The accident is under investigation and no names are being released at this time pending notification of family.
