Madison police release sketch of robbery suspect


MADISON (WKOW) -- Officials release the sketch of a man they say robbed and attacked a woman Tuesday morning on Madison's east side.

Madison police say a 55-year-old was mugged while walking near the intersection of E. Mifflin Street and N. Ingersoll Street just before 9:00 a.m. Tuesday.

Police say the victim was approached from behind and knocked to the ground. The suspect got away with her bad.

Officials say the victim was taken to a local hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

The suspect is described as a black man in his fifties, 5'5", 160-170 pounds, medium complexion, has a mustache and short hair with some gray in it. He was last seen wearing a white t-shirt and jeans.

Anyone with information about this case is asked to call Madison Area Crime Stoppers at 608-266-6014. Callers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for up to a $1,000 reward.
