Eau Claire (WQOW) - Area tourism could see a boost after a local group is awarded a grant.
Visit Eau Claire was presented today with a grant for nearly thirty nine thousand dollars from the Wisconsin Department of Tourism. Two years ago the group received a similar grant, which they used on a campaign aimed at driving visitors to their web site.
"The dollars that we received are underway right now with our campaign, and we're already seeing great results. Basically what we're anticipating is about a one million dollar boost in visitor spending due to this grant award we received," said Linda John, Executive Director of Visit Eau Claire.
Visit Eau Claire will use this newest grant to redesign it's mobile web site and launch a mobile app featuring area tourist attractions.
