MADISON (WKOW) -- About a dozen Madison police officers responded to a large group fight downtown early Saturday morning.
Around bar time, a crowd of about 200 group started to congregate in the area of State Street and Frances Street and several fights broke out.
Pepper spray was used to disperse the group. Several people were arrested including one man who struck an officer in the head and chest. The officer was not seriously hurt.
Theodore D. Taylor, 22, faces charges of disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, battery to a police officer and probation violation.
