DANE COUNTY (WKOW) -- Authorities in Dane County are investigating a rash of
residential burglaries reported in the western part of the county last month.
The Dane County Sheriff's Office says the burglaries happened during the day between September 25-28.
Officials say a total of eight burglaries were reported over the three-day
period; five in the town of Middleton and three in the town of Montrose. They say while some homes were accessed through
unlocked doors, others were forced entries. The thieves stole cash, jewelry, electronics, and
guns.
Anyone with information on these crimes is asked to call the
Dane County tip line at 608-284-6900.
Authorities also want to remind citizens to lock homes and garages,
and secure valuables inside the home. Be
aware of the comings and goings in your neighborhood and immediately report anything that
appears suspicious.
