MARSHFIELD (WAOW) - A Marshfield woman's unborn child is doing fine after she
was punched in the stomach multiple times.
Police say the woman was checked out at the hospital, and
is physically doing OK despite some minor injuries.
Marshfield police say a man doused the woman in gasoline
and threatened to burn her on Friday.
It happened Saturday, September 29, at 4:15 p.m.
Marshfield police say the 23-year-old man doused a 28-year-old Marshfield woman
in gasoline, threatened to burn her and punched her in the stomach several
times.
Police say the woman is pregnant. They say she tried to
escape several times but was unable to. Police say the man even choked the woman
at one point.
The man was taken to the Marathon County Jail. Marshfield
police say he faces charges of attempted abortion, first degree recklessly
endangering safety, false imprisonment and strangulation.
Police say he was also found possessing heroin and will
face drug charges as well.
