Eau Claire (WQOW) -- The UW-Eau Claire football team started the season by losing three non-conference games, but the Blugolds bounced back in their WIAC opener.
UW-Eau Claire outlasted UW-Stout, Saturday, 21-13. Next up for the Blugolds, a trip to UW-Oshkosh. UWEC has won four of the last five against the Titans, but the Blugolds remember letting a lead slip last season at home in a loss to UWO.
"I think you do what you do and not worry so much about what they're doing," says Blugolds head coach Todd Glaser, "when you start to do that is when you run into problems. We've been focused through practice so far and we need to continue that when we go over there."
UW-Oshkosh is 4-0 overall, and 1-0 in the WIAC following a 19-7 win at UW-River Falls last Saturday. UWO is #1 among conference teams in both total offense and total defense.
