Hudson (WQOW) - A former official with a western Wisconsin facility is going to jail for stealing drugs intended for patients.
Dana Veness was sentenced on Wednesday to a month-and-a-half in jail. Veness, from Hudson, was the program director for Aurora Community Services. The company cares for people with mental and physical disabilities at facilities in several western Wisconsin communities.
Veness was accused of forging doctors orders for hydrocodone for patients, then keeping the medications for herself. Investigators say thousands of the pills were unaccounted for. As part of her sentence Veness must also do community service.
