Eau Claire (WQOW) - Hundreds of people braved the cold
this morning to participate in a fundraiser for a local school.
Over 500
people showed up to walk, run, or bike the trails at Lowes Creek
County Park.
It was the 2nd annual Robbins Run, Walk and Roll event, which raises funds for
after school programs at the Robbins Elementary School in Eau Claire.
"We have something
at Robbins called Project Discovery, and we run different courses and have
staff members that teach various classes. It's offered for third to fifth
graders, and we also have news sessions that are running for first and second
graders. It lets everybody have an opportunity to try something different that
they might not be able to try out otherwise," said Robbins Elementary PTO
President Jenna Southard.
Participants had the option of a 5k
fun run or 5k bike tour through the park. Over $5000 was raised.
