Stout FB evens conference record

Menomonie (WQOW) -- With the stands full for homecoming, the UW-Stout football team didn't disappoint on Saturday.

The Blue Devils racked up 31 points against UW-Stevens Point, including four touchdowns from senior quarterback Mike Blizel. It was Stout's first conference win. The team says they needed a good game after a disappointing loss to UW-Eau Claire the week before.

We had a sour taste after last week and with homecoming, it's the biggest game we look forward to every year," says Blizel. "We have a good crowd, a lot of people coming back. And guys play for each other, and that's good. That's what we needed."

Senior captain Josh Peterson agrees: "This one means a lot. This was our first good team victory. And on homecoming, it just makes it even better."

The road only gets tougher for the Blue Devils who host the defending Division 3 national champions, UW-Whitewater, next Saturday at Williams Stadium.
