Madison (WQOW) -- Wisconsin running backs Montee Ball and James White both had big games in Saturday's win over Illinois, but this season, the Badgers offense has been a lot more productive when wide receiver Jared Abbrederis has been on the field.
Abbrederis left the Oregon State game early with a concussion and then didn't play against Utah State, two games in which Wisconsin struggled offensively.
Abbrederis leads the Big Ten with just over 103 receiving yards per game, and he's second in the conference in yards per catch.
"For what he's doing offensively," says Wisconsin head coach Bret Bielema, "he did a nice job coming in as a punt returner, making a big play happen there as well, just very, very impressive, and obviously, the touchdowns, the long strikes are huge, but what he does, he was a key factor on the block on James White's touchdown, key blocks on several running plays for Montee and James, that kid is just an incredible football player that deserves all the recognition he's getting."
