Longtime Stanley-Boyd assistant coach remembered

Western Wisconsin (WQOW) - A volunteer assistant coach for many years at Stanley-Boyd has passed away.

Steve Skaare died early Monday morning.  Rescue crews were called to his home around 5 a.m. They were told Steve was not breathing.  Police say no foul play is suspected.  It appears that he died of natural causes.  An autopsy has been scheduled.

Steve was 49 years old.  He was the middle school head football coach and had been a volunteer assistant with the varsity for several years.  The head coach, Jeff Koenig, said "Steve was a great friend who will be missed by so many people."
