Man arrested for stealing food from childrens' clinics

MADISON (WKOW) -- Surveillance video helped police arrest a suspect in a series of burglaries that targeted two childrens' clinics in Madison.

Madison police arrested John E. Newburg, 45, of Madison. He's accused of multiple break-ins throughout the summer at Integrated Developmental Systems and Children's Therapy Network.

The agencies offer services to children with autism as well as young people with other behavioral challenges and disorders.

Employees reported hundreds of dollars worth of food had been taken, including pudding, crackers, cheese, yogurt and cottage cheese in June, July and August.

Police say Newburg was identified as a suspect in five burglaries, and was arrested outside his Madison home on Monday night.

Newburg faces five burglary charges and damage to property.
