Eau Claire County (WQOW) - A man is charged with sexually assaulting a woman at an Eau Claire tavern.
The woman says Alexandre Freitas-Silveira followed her into the bathroom at She-Nanigans on Saturday and locked the door. She told police he pushed her into a wall, causing her to hit her head and that she does not remember what happened after that.
Two women told police they forced their way into the bathroom and found the woman partially undressed and crying on the floor. They told investigators they asked the bouncer to hold the man they saw coming out of the ladies room, but that the bouncer instead kicked the man out of the bar.
When police did located Freitas-Silveira, they say he admitted sexual contact with the woman, but said it was consensual. Police say the woman was hysterical and shaking when they tried to interview her.
