Stoughton teen arrested after burglary attempt


STOUGHTON (WKOW) -- Stoughton police arrest a suspect after a burglary attempt.

According to the Stoughton Police Department, they received a 911 call from the Kwik Trip store on the 1200 block of East Main Street in the City of Stoughton around 11:10 p.m. Tuesday. Two employees inside the store reported that the store had closed at 11:00 p.m. and a male suspect was trying to break through the locked front doors.

The employees stayed near a video monitor watching the suspect trying to break the class doors. Stoughton police arrived on scene. The suspect ran away, but was later arrested.

Eighteen-year-old Kiyam Stepney, of Stoughton, faces charges including Armed Burglary, Resisting Arrest and violating his probation. He was taken to the Dane County Jail.
