WASHINGTON (WKOW) -- Safety officials are recalling about 80,000 USB wall chargers over concerns they can overheat and smoke.
The U.S. Consumer Protection Safety Commission announced the recall of the Sharper Image USB wall chargers on Wednesday.
Officials say the recalled chargers can overheat and smoke, posing fire and burn hazards to consumers. There have been 13 reports of the chargers overheating, smoking and releasing a foul smell; however, there have been no reports of injuries.
The recall involves the Sharper Image USB wall chargers with model numbers "TSI202" and "TSI260." They were sold at Burlington Coat Factory, Tuesday Morning and TJ Maxx stores and on various websites from October 2011 through September 2012 for between $8 and $13.
If you have a recalled product, stop using it and contact Atomi (by phone: 1-800-790-1440 or email) for instructions on returning the charges for a full refund.
