Posted:

Chippewa County (WQOW) - A Bloomer teenager with a lengthy criminal record is going to prison.

Gerald Obernberger was sentenced this week for stealing thousands of dollars worth of equipment from storage sheds at Chippewa Falls Senior High and Hillcrest Elementary, and for burglarizing a Lake Wissota convenience store.  He will spend four years in prison.

That sentence includes allegations that he stole gasoline from four or five cars by drilling holes in the gas tanks. Obernberger is already serving a prison sentence for sexual assault.
