Chippewa County (WQOW) - A plea bargain is reached for the driver in a crash that killed a man just hours before he was to be a groomsman in a wedding.
It was in June 2010 that James Heath and other members of a wedding party left a rehearsal dinner. Investigators say Heath, who was also a groomsman, rear-ended a semi and hit another car. His vehicle caught fire, and his passenger, Shawn Sillman was killed. The investigation showed Heath was intoxicated and had morphine in his system.
On Wednesday Heath pleaded no contest to homicide by drunk driving. He will be sentenced in January.
