Eau Claire (WQOW) - The state has selected a new long-term care provider for hundreds of people in western Wisconsin.

The Department of Health Services said a contract has been awarded to Southwest Family Care Alliance. Community Health Partnership, based in Eau Claire, provides long-term care to 2,700 people currently, but it will dissolve at the end of the year. Southwest is a managed care organization that serves counties in the southwestern part of Wisconsin.

The state said the process was competitive, but Southwest had the highest scoring proposal that was submitted.
