Chippewa County (WQOW) - The school district calls it a tough, but necessary decision. Lake Holcombe has canceled Friday night's football game with Turtle Lake.

Superintendent Tom Goulet said they were down to 13 players because of injuries. Goulet said the school district was concerned about player safety, so they canceled the game.

Lake Holcombe is working with Cornell on a possible co-op. Cornell is also talking to Cadott after those schools merged their football programs for the rest of this season.
