MADISON, Wis. (WKOW) -- The Madison area hasn't had a state champ in Division 1 girls individual tennis since 1994, when foreign exchange student Jana Hrdinova won it for Stoughton.
On Saturday, another foreign exchange student almost won one for Milton. Lea Krajcovicova took on defending champ Elizabeth Konon of Homestead but fell in two sets to settle for state runner-up.
In the Division 2 doubles championship, Madison Edgewood's Morgan Molitor and Lauren Keller beat a top-seeded pair from Roncalli in two sets to win the state championship.
