Altoona students allowed to leave school after lock down

Posted:

Altoona (Press Release) - The police believe that the suspect is no longer in the area and that it is safe to release the students at their usual times. All areas around the schools, including vehicles have been checked by the authorities.

Marked and unmarked cars remain in the area to insure walkers get home safely.

Staff will escort students to their buses. High school students who drive will leave the building via door H11 also under staff escort.

Students are being told to go directly home once released.

With the exception of the scheduled school board meeting, all evening practices and events are canceled.
